When should I bring in an HVAC contractor for new construction?

As early as possible, ideally while plans are being finalized. Early involvement lets us plan equipment locations, duct routes and returns before framing limits your options.

How do you size an HVAC system for a new home?

We calculate the heating and cooling load from the home's size, layout, insulation, windows and orientation. Sizing by square footage alone often leads to an oversized system that cools quickly but leaves the house humid.

What is the difference between HVAC rough-in and trim-out?

Rough-in is the work done while walls are open: ductwork, refrigerant lines, drain lines and returns. Trim-out happens after drywall and paint, when we set the equipment, install registers and the thermostat, and start the system.

What type of HVAC system is best for a new home in Northwest Florida?

Most new homes in Niceville and DeFuniak Springs use a heat pump system, which cools efficiently in summer and heats in our mild winters. We'll walk you through efficiency levels, zoning and humidity control options for your home.

Can you add zoning or a mini split to a new construction home?

Yes. New construction is the easiest time to add zoning, a ductless mini split for a bonus room or garage, or whole-home humidity control.

Do you work directly with builders?

Yes. We work with home builders and with homeowners acting as their own contractor in Niceville, DeFuniak Springs and the surrounding areas.

Do you handle permits and inspections for new construction HVAC?

Yes. As a licensed Florida HVAC contractor (CAC1824046), we handle the mechanical permit and make sure the system is ready for inspection.

New Construction HVAC for Builders & Homeowners

The best time to get heating and cooling right is before the drywall goes up. Next Level Heating and Air provides new construction HVAC installation for home builders and for homeowners building a custom home in Niceville, DeFuniak Springs and across Okaloosa and Walton counties.

We size the system to the home instead of guessing by square footage, design the ductwork so every room gets the airflow it needs, and coordinate our work with your framing, electrical and insulation schedule. Builders get a dependable HVAC partner who shows up when the job is ready. Homeowners get a system designed around how they'll actually live in the house.

Need a bonus room, garage or workshop on its own system? We can add a ductless mini split during construction.

How Our New Construction HVAC Installation Works

New construction HVAC installation happens in stages. First we review your plans, calculate the heating and cooling load, and design the system and duct layout. During rough-in, we install the ductwork, refrigerant lines, drain lines and returns while the walls are open.

Once the home is finished inside, we come back for trim-out: setting the air handler and outdoor unit, installing registers, grilles and the thermostat, and connecting everything. Then we start the system, test airflow and performance, and make sure it's ready for inspection and move-in.
